Smileys, emoticons, smiley faces, no matter what you call them, they are a free and easy way to express yourself online.
Smileys have come a long way from the simple colon and parenthesis :) typed from a keyboard.
Today you can get thousands of free smileys with many cool features, including animated smileys, 3D smileys and even talking smileys.
You can use your animated, 3D and talking Smileys right away on Facebook, MySpace, MSN Spaces, email, IM, Blogs, and much more.
You might have noticed quite a few site offering free smileys, and may be a bit confused.
Don't worry, it's really pretty simple.
From my research, the three best places to download your free animated emoticons are SmileyCentral, CrawlerSmileys and FreezeSmileys.
Each of these have their own style and the smileys will look and act a little differently.
My personal favorite is Smiley Central, but you may like one of the others better.
The good news is that they are all free, so you can try them and keep the ones you like.
So here is my suggestion: Pick one of the three and try it out. If you don't like those smileys, just try another (you might want to bookmark this page so you can back here to try the next one).
That's all there is to it.
Here they are, have fun!
Next is the Crawler Smiley Toolbar. As I mentioned above, there is no telling which you will like. To get your animated emoticons from Crawler Smiley click here, or click on the pic.
Last, but not least, are emoticons from Freeze.com. You guessed it, you can get your animated emoticons from Freeze.com by clicking here, or there.
Did I say three? Well here is one more I just found out about, that looks a little different. It's from the folks who brought you SmileyCentral. Check this out! With Smiley Creator, you can actually customize your own Smileys. Reminds me of Mr. Potato Head. Sweet!

Note that the owner of this site (me) gets paid a small commission if you download and install one of these free Smiley products. Pretty sweet, huh? It's called Affliate Marketing. If you are interested in how this works, or want to make some money from your site, blog, or whatever, check out The Affiliate Program at Neverblue Network (also free). (I also get a commission if you make money with Neverblue, so it's all good.)
